Dr. Dave Horan grew up surrounded by animals – from dogs and cats to rabbits, birds and wildlife. Inspired by the constant, unconditional love they gave, he began a journey culminating when he received his BVSc veterinary degree from Sydney University in 1987.
Over the years Dr. Dave has had many pet dogs and cats and other sundry pets.
These have naturally passed and these passings have individually and together an indelible mark on Dave’s consciousness.
Kelly the cross bred Kelpie Lab was especially significant.
Present through all the ups and downs of life, relationships, veterinary school, and post-graduate training and of course family life and children; he was always there offering unconditional love. It was an honor to be able to help him pass in the comfort of his own home, surrounded by loved ones and familiar surroundings.
Having the personal experience of going through all the challenges of end of life care and finally euthanasia for Kelly, Dr. Dave has a unique understanding for the difficulties and struggles of both his patients and owners during this time of life transition. Wanting to help ease the anxieties for all and make the end of life transition a peaceful and comfortable experience, Dr. Dave started CaringVet.com.au In-Home Pet Euthanasia Services.
